It seems like no matter how much we learn about healthy eating, there will always be a celebrity making the rounds for the next “magic diet.”

Photographer Dan Bannino compiled a bunch of celebrity fad diets into beautiful still life photos, which contrast their sometimes destructive nature.

  3. I watched Tracks last night and it was completely beautiful. Mia Wasikowska is such a fantastic actress.

The story of Robyn Davidson has amazed me and the photographs of Rick Smolan helped to tell her story brilliantly.

The film is beautiful, inspiring and completely heart breaking in equal measure.

I urge you to watch it.

"Saddest moment? How am I supposed to choose between losing my parents and seeing my friends die in Vietnam? I don’t categorize those things. Listen, a person is like a rubber band ball. We’ve all got a lot of bad rubber bands, and a lot of good rubber bands, and they’re all wrapped up together. And you’ve got to have both types of bands or your rubber band ball ain’t gonna bounce. And no use trying to untangle them. You know what I’m saying?"

I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians.

  11. A true talent was lost today. I’ve been a huge fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman for as long as I can remember. He was a fantastic actor and I am absolutely gutted.

    Rest in peace, PSH.

Dallas Buyers Club (2013) - Dir. Jean-Marc Vallée

Sometimes I feel like I’m fighting for a life I ain’t got time to live. I want it to mean something.

If these 2 men don’t win Oscars for this film, then I will finally be convinced that the Oscars is just pap.

  14. I just watched August: Osage County and boy, that is one superb piece of filmmaking. Meryl Streep, as per usual, is on incredible form.

Actually the whole cast is fantastic, Julia Roberts was as good as Erin Brokovich. Julianne Nicholson was also very impressive.

The men up on the news
They try to tell us all that we will lose
But it’s so easy in this blue
    Where everything is good.

And I’ll never go home again
(Place the call, feel it start)
    Favorite friend
(And nothing’s wrong but nothing’s true)
I live in a hologram with you
Where all the things that we do for fun
(And I’ll breathe, and it goes)
    Play along
    (Make believe, it’s hyper real)
But I live in a hologram with you
